What are the ICT tools used in teaching and learning?

ICT refers to Information and Communication and Technology which enables learners to learn in a more advanced, convenient, and flexible environment. ICT tools include instruments such as computers, e-readers, browsing the internet, electronic notebooks, educational games, PowerPoint slides, e-learning platforms, and the like. 

1. Blackboard:

Blackboard can be used by teachers to use administer tests, monitor performance, manage syllabus and even upload grades. Students can use this tool to access information such as grades, assignments, attendance, and the like which are uploaded on the platform. 

2. Google Classroom:

It is a virtual classroom that makes learning more convenient and accessible. Teachers can also use it in integration with other educational applications and websites to create interactive assignments. 

3. Trello:

Trello is more preferrable for project-based learning. It can be used as a collaborative tool for assignments and discussion. Students can also access their projects, see deadlines, and track their progress online. 

4. Microsoft Team:

Teachers can host classes, meetings, share files, and the like with this tool. It also has Class Notebooks which can be assigned to students individually and they can also get real-time feedback. 

5. E-Learning Platforms:

Students can also access various e-learning platforms such as Unacademy, Byju’s, Vedantu, Coursera, Udemy, and the like. These platforms offer virtual learning which learners can access from any part of the world. It enables learners to gain access to qualified instructors and learning materials. This acts as a good supplement to offline or traditional form of education. 

ICT teaching tools can certainly be regarded as an interactive from of education. It enhances the delivery of information and outreaches the boundaries of classroom education. It makes the teaching learning environment more interactive and fun thereby allowing students to develop interest in learning as they can learn in their own pace.
