The library is normally a very apt place to study since it is not noisy.

You can also make your own study space at home. Design it accordingly, for the parents reading this and also the students, you must design a place with bright colors and light providing all the necessary space. You can use attractive and motivating wall stickers.

Make sure that your studying space is clean and managed with well lighting.

Hence, other jobs and distractions can be handled before or after your study period. Committing to a study schedule will help you push the distraction away. This will also make you more disciplined. Making a schedule will ultimately make your day more productive.

Parents should also encourage their children to follow the schedule. This will help them inculcating more discipline inside them.

Reduce External Distractions-

Mobile phones, tablets and laptops are the biggest distraction among the students. Even while studying the students start scrolling their instagramor facebook feeds. To avoids that, always put your phone on silent mode and mute your notification while studying. If you are not using your phone for studies, switch it off during the study session. Moreover, if you are addicted to your phone, it is better to put your phone somewhere out of your reach, far away from where you study. You could also ask someone to keep it for you until your study session is over.

Parents should keep a check on their children so that they do not get addicted to the phone.

Ask your family members not to disturb you while you are studying. Keep your phone off to avoid chit chats with your friends. Avoid responding to unnecessary messages, memes and reels while you are studying.

Make your Daily Study Goals-

Always decide ahead of time what subject/chapter/topic you’ll be studying and set a target for yourself to complete by the end of the day. Setting goals will provide you with a clear picture of what needs to be accomplished in a day before retiring to your bed. This makes your day productive and stops you from wasting a lot of time.

While studying, concentrate entirely on your topic.

Manage Noise-

If you’re bothered by sounds you can’t control, listen to soft, soothing music to provide a calming background to drown out unwelcome noise.Invest in noise cancelling headphones rather than using ear buds.  You can also use them without music to control noise. If you require complete silence to work effectively, consider well‐made, heavy-duty earplugs (check at the pharmacy). At times the noise from the outside area or neighborhood location is very distracting. You can try ear buds or headphones to avoid this.

Schedule Distractions-

• Study in 25-minute blocks

• After every block, take a 5-minute break

• After 4 work blocks, take a longer break of 15-20 minutes

To maximize the effectiveness of the Pomodoro Technique, write down what task(s) you want to accomplish within each work block. Doing so will give you a sense of urgency that pushes you to stay on task.

Create Visual Reminders-

When you see a thing continuously it becomes hard to ignore it. You can use sticky notes and put them on places that are easily visible to you. You can write motivational thoughts or you own goals which will motivate you to work hard whenever you see them.
