The adolescence stage of development refers to the period between childhood and adulthood. It is a transitional period in which individuals go through changes in all developmental dimensions. The word adolescence is derived from the Greek word ‘adolescere’ meaning ‘to grow to maturity’. According to Jean Piaget, adolescence is the, “The age of great ideals and the beginning of theories as well as the time of simple adaptation of reality.”
